Eucobat - The European project for the collection and recycling of used batteries.

The main goal of Eucobat – the European association of national collection schemes for batteries – is to increase the collection and recycling of batteries at the European level, and, to achieve this goal, they decided to make an application for smartphones that makes it easier to find collections points closer to the user.

These collection points are indicated to the user on a map where they are marked with pins and, in turn, these locations are managed in backoffice by the Eucobat team and can be introduced at once from the import tool through excel file. Since Eucobat works with institutions with similar objectives in the European countries (such as Ecopilhas, whose app was also developed by BloomIdea), this new tool provides accounts with restricted access so that management is shared between the multiple partners.

This application was developed by BloomIdea and is available for iOS and Android in 13 European languages (English, Portuguese, Dutch, French, Danish, Dutch BE (Belgium), Finnish, Italian, Norwegian, Romanian, Slovak, Spanish and Turkish) and, in addition to the indication of the nearest collection points, it promotes good practices for recycling used batteries, and clarifies the most frequent doubts on the subject - the information is reliable, being provided by Eucobat and its official partners.
